Organize Your Room in Six Simple Steps

Organizing a bedroom can be a pretty daunting task, but I have a few tips that can make the process go much more smoothly:
1) Make the bed. This is an easy way to make a bedroom look a little more put together. Plus, we need a smooth workspace!

2) Pick up everything
off the floor and put it on the bed in piles. Divide the items up by
category. All dirty clothes in one pile, toys in another, hangers in
another…however you would like to categorize your things.
3) Put away everything that already has a home. For things that don’t have a home, proceed to step four.
4) Gather boxes of various sizes. Use shoe boxes, empty bins, baskets, Costco boxes, whatever you’re not using that you find around your house.

5) Find the best size container for each category. Start boxing stuff up! Place the bins in an area of the room or house that makes the most sense for right now. It won’t be perfect, but you’ll think of something that works better for you one of these days.
6) Move on to the next cluttered area of the room and repeat the process. You’ll have an organized room in no time!
ONE LAST NOTE...I have also found that keeping my house organized is so much easier when I have less stuff. Living simply is a more stress-free way to go. Think about passing on some of the things you don’t need or want any more to someone else who could use it.
